Budget-friendly options to cover top-tier bariatric care. At Beltre Bariatrics, we understand that obesity can negatively impact your everyday life and severely affect other health-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Because of that, we know that opting for bariatric surgery is critical for most patients. We also recognize that some patients may be hesitant to obtain surgery due to the overall cost. We believe that weight loss surgery should be available to everyone, so we offer various financing options to fit your healthcare goals and budgeting needs.
Can I afford bariatric surgery?
Whether you have the best insurance coverage or none at all, we will help you understand exactly what your procedure will cost, explain the different financing options available to you, and work with you to navigate the paperwork required for any necessary approvals. Bariatric surgery is a life-changing procedure that enables aggressive weight loss and radically improves overall health. Unfortunately, surgery is expensive. Weight loss surgery is complex, requiring a skilled team of highly-trained, experienced surgical and medical practitioners and demanding a rigorous routine of pre-and post-operative care which can cost a lot of money. The truth is the costs of living with obesity and the health-related problems it creates are equally high. When factoring in things like life-long medications, frequent visits to your primary care physician and medical specialists, regular blood work and other screenings, participation in weight loss programs, and even lost productivity due to sickness, doctor’s visits, and depression can quickly equate and surpass the cost of bariatric surgery. When you consider that bariatric surgery offers immediate weight loss and resolution of many health problems, the long-term cost-benefit of weight loss surgery becomes immediately apparent.
Does my health insurance cover bariatric surgery?
It depends. An increasing number of insurance companies are offering full or partial coverage for metabolic surgery, recognizing that the short-term cost of the surgery is still less than the long-term cost of health problems associated with obesity. We will work closely with you and your insurance company to help you navigate the complicated paperwork necessary for the approval process.

Self-Pay for Bariatric Surgery
Dr. Wiljon Beltre created the self-pay bariatric surgery program to make weight loss surgery as affordable as possible and accessible to patients who have been denied insurance coverage, or who choose not to utilize their insurance. To lower the cost of the procedure, the surgery is done at a qualified ambulatory surgery center. For most patients, the fee for outpatient gastric sleeve surgery is approximately $11,500 if paid in cash ($12,000 with financing). The fee for gastric bypass is $14,500 and the fee for the duodenal switch is $16,500. However, please be aware that the specific cost for each patient will vary somewhat depending on each patient’s specific medical concerns. After your initial consultation with Dr. Beltre and a review of your medical records, we will provide you with a detailed and comprehensive cost estimate, including the cost of anesthesia, the surgery center, and the surgery itself. It also includes all necessary preliminary and follow-up visits with Dr. Beltre and participation in Dr. Beltre’s regular weight loss support meetings for patients local to the Orlando area. Please be aware that the self-pay bariatric surgery program may not be appropriate for all patients. The self-pay option is only available for patients who qualify for outpatient bariatric surgery. . Patients who require an extended hospital stay before or after do not qualify for the self-pay bariatric surgery program as surgery will need to be performed in a hospital. The hospital cost is substantially more.
Bariatric Financing You Can Afford
